Thumbs down Arenanet/Plaync support can....*beep*

Well, the thing is simple, yet Arenanet/Plaync has a HARD time understanding.
A week ago my friend couldnt remember hes password to hes game account. This account is NOT linked to Plaync, nor is it linked to hes second account. And he OWNS both of them, he got the cd-keys and he has the email login.

So he emails Anet telling them "I request my password to be reset to my guildwars game account, since it is not linked to Plaync I cant change the password" they email saying "Log in to your account, go to the online shop..." let me stop there. HE LOST HES PASSWORD TO HES GAME ACCOUNT.

He emails them again, telling them ALL the info about the account. Cd-keys, name, adress etc. Guild Wars keeps sending him to Plaync website, he trys to add the cd-keys to hes master account, no can do, the keys are invalid due to that they are in GUILD WARS. And this was BEFORE they introduced the Plaync system.

He gets a new reply saying that they thank him and they hope he understands that he must link the keys to plaync...

How is he going to LINK the keys when they already are in use?!
I email them, telling them that he lost hes GAME account password and that they can simply reset it and send an email to hes login. It cant be hard for them to see if the cd-keys are correct or incorrect and just send him a new password.

And then they reply, to me. Sorry, we cant help you with this since your are not allowed to borrow or loan/sell accses to your account.

?!!!? Im just helping him. So I emailed them, and so did my friend. I told them, "So is this it then, he forgets hes password, cant remember what plaync login he has to the account linked. He has all the cd-keys. And all you can do is to just let it be and hes account be lost just becouse you cant reset the password?" No reply.. and this imo, is BAD SERVICE from Arenanet/Plaync.

What is he suposed to do? Sit there and get brain damage thinking of hes password while anet sits on their *beep* and cant check the password or send him a new one.

He tryed EVERYTHING on Plaync support site. He has sent 5 emails now, 6 with mine were I try to help him, where I actually forwarded the emails he got from them, to Arenanet so they can believe me, and they do nothing!
Where I tell them to reset the password and just send him an email. This is just ridicoulus imho.

I know some of you will say "haha he can suit himself if he lost hes password, let the account be there, he cant use it" etc.

Well if you do, go ahead and imagine the situation, then speak for yourself, coz thats just immature..

Thumbs down for Anet atm.

Sorry but as GW has no Security Questions Anet have no proof he is who he say's he is. Sorry to hear your friend lost his account but with the limited info given to them Anet are doing the right thing.

Why not just have one account? Solves the problem of remembering passwords/logins

... Simple answer to your question(?) ... How easy could you jack someone's stuff and report it "stolen" or "I fergot MY PASS d00d!"

You know your friends address, phone number, email.
Jack his passkey from home.

Phone ANET: Like, HOLY SWEATY BALLS ANET, I FERGOT MY PASS!!!!1

They reset it.

You just jacked his account.

Pretty sure that's why.

If it's not linked to PlayNC then it's easy to reset the password, assuming he's the real owner of the account.
On the main login page click 'reset my password' and it will email u a new one

I have no idea what your saying... but Im guessing your tired.
1. I live in sweden, my friend in England
2. I know hes email, its pure friends logic, I dont know hes password.
3. Anet ask specifically for hes birthdate, cd-keys, adress and real name. I know my friends first name only. So no, I didnt "jack" hes account if thats what your saying.

And if my friend wants to forward hes emails he got from anet to MY email its up to him. Maybe thats why you think I "jacked" hes account. But you should read what forwarding is in that case.
So before you talk next time, figure out the facts..

This is probably one of those things you should ask Gaile about.

I had problems like this for Age of empire and after few emails and stupid answers i got my pasword. But AOE have a public site no like anet, with admins, and a admin from the site helped me not the support email... U just need to be carefull and to send more emails, all from same adress so they can have a history... U should use the PlayNC system, make a new account there and report from there the problem not emailing them from your personal mail

The playNC is messed up or complicated anyway, i dont understand the login area there and i made 5 accounts cuz cant login...

I call foul.

If it's sending him to playNC, he should be able to reset his pass right on the startup screen.

Yes...what is so hard about changing the password? Is your friend too blind (or stupid) to reset it himself using the "Reset Password" option?
